Apple's Awesome Year In 60 Seconds

Apple's Awesome Year In 60 Seconds
This summary of Apple in 2009 is educational, to better understand why Apple is so effective.
The 27" iMac is called the Product of the Year here, with good reason.
The site says in part "We snapped up a quad-core model a few weeks ago. In addition to being the fastest computer we've ever used, with a ridiculously awesome display, it makes a cool bedroom TV at night (for falling asleep to Hulu and Boxee shows)."

FCC wants more competition with set-top boxes - Yahoo! News

FCC wants more competition with set-top boxes - Yahoo! News
Hopefully it's just a matter of some short time until Cable/TV set-top box makers all add Internet access - at which time broadcast programming's coffin nails will be hammered into the wood. The new generation rightfully does not understand why in the world anyone would watch content based on someone else's broadcasting schedule. Without competition, as this article points out, progress will be slower.

Miami Herald asks online readers for donations - Technology - MiamiHerald.com

Miami Herald asks online readers for donations - Technology - MiamiHerald.com
This would be funny if it were not so sad.
Print Publications are losing advertising and readership - their move to online has no business model other than advertising (unless you are the Wall Street Journal). Now, the plea is "won't you please make a 'donation'." Sure, to a corporation, which was probably financed in a leveraged buyout through some hedge funds and Sovereign wealth funds that were made whole in the recent bailout - get real. The newspaper business has only itself to blame for their inability to predict trends and stay current. This donation model is pure desperation. The new generation has no use for papers, broadcast TV, or any of the prior-generation cash-cow media products - are these mega-media CEOs just now realizing this?
Investors, place your bets on Apple, Google, and Amazon, not these old ink and reality-show jockeys.

Someone finally gets it - I'll frequent McDonalds instead of the Burger King across the street for this free access.

UK announces one-time tax on bankers' bonuses - Forbes.com

UK announces one-time tax on bankers' bonuses - Forbes.com: "banks who still believe their priority is to pay substantial bonus"
Why not follow England's lead and impose a one-time 50% tax on big obscene bankers' bonuses?
